Looking for the light at the end of the tunnel may require a change in your environment? I remember when everything that could go wrong in my life, did go wrong. At a very low point, I asked, “What else could go wrong?” My advice is NEVER ask that question. The answer will come and it will not be pleasant.

I found, the more negative information I allowed into my environment the worse things became in my life. It was like feeding a little monster that lived in my head. Eventually, I fed that monster so much that I weighed 394 pounds, lost my business, was in a wheelchair and I had trouble breathing. I felt like a big blob that could no longer function.

Here are the steps I took to change my environment and take back control of my life.

  • I removed the negative influences from my environment. It started by changing what I watched and read. That old statement, “Garbage In, Garbage Out” is true. How could I expect to feel positive about anything when I filled my mind with negativity every day?
  • I began to spend my time reading positive and inspiring books. I began researching about new exciting goals and feeling grateful for all the good in my life. I distanced myself from negative people and would remove myself from negative conversations.
  • I began to focus on my lifelong dream.  Ever since I was a child, I enjoyed writing stories. After my weight-loss surgery, a friend mentioned that I should start a blog. At first, I thought that sounded interesting, but there was no way I could do it. I had to grow into the idea that starting a blog was even possible. Eventually, I believed it could be done.
  • I took action by creating the blog and it went live on January 6, 2016. Did it happen overnight? No, it took over six months from the first thought to going live. Was it easy? No, I had to learn everything about starting a blog site from scratch. I had no money to hire anyone for help. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY!

Funny how the same principals we use to lose weight, also work toward achieving any goal in our life. What have you always wanted to do? Get started now, you will be happy that you did.

This is so true, you are very inspirational and wise. It all starts in our heads, we can weed it out or fertilize it with positive and truth. Thank you!
